Discover Grappille agenda, Paris Wine Bar by Xavier Thuizat, Best Sommelier of France

5 min read

Nestled within Maison Villeroy, Grappille offers a unique sensory experience: a selection of wines and champagnes ranging from discovery to rare finds, carefully chosen by Xavier Thuizat, to be enjoyed with refined and indulgent gourmet “grappillettes.” Grappille, the wine bar by Xavier Thuizat, France’s Best Sommelier and Best Craftsman in 2022, has established itself in the 8th arrondissement as a discreet address dedicated to the connoisseur and beginners. Today, the venue extends its art of tasting: now open every day, Grappille transforms its evenings into a true showcase for wine, with dinners and gatherings centered around the theme of wine.

A unique place dedicated to wine and conviviality

True to its approach, Grappille, located in Paris’ 8th arrondissement, has become a destination for tasting and enjoying a variety of carefully selected drinks, allowing guests to savor them at their own pace.

Guests can also dine on site thanks to a simple and refined menu created by Sébastien Sanjou, chef of the nearby Michelin-starred restaurant Trente-Trois. His instinctive and refined cuisine naturally extends the spirit of the “grappillettes,” with seasonal dishes designed to complement the tasting, without ever overshadowing the glass.

But the evening experience goes further: Grappille affirms more than ever its vocation as a place for sharing and socializing around wine, perfect for wine-focused evenings, dinners with food and wine pairings, or intimate tasting experiences in Paris.

Masterclasses by Xavier Thuizat

Each month, Grappille transforms into an intimate tasting bar with “Les Rendez-vous de Grappille”, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., starting at €215 per person. Xavier Thuizat, a true wine connoisseur, guides guests through a friendly, relaxed, and deeply sensory approachable masterclass.

On the program:
– Five carefully selected glasses based on a theme (region, grape variety, style, unexpected pairing, etc.)
– Grappillettes to accompany the tasting and reveal the flavors
– A warm and curious atmosphere, where wine is as much about storytelling as it is about tasting

Champagne Sunday, the new Parisian Sunday ritual

In keeping with this spirit of relaxed elegance, Grappille is also launching Champagne Sunday, a new Sunday ritual designed as a festive and refined interlude. Every Sunday from 3pm to 6pm, guests are invited to savor a timeless moment with a selection of Brut and Rosé champagnes, served continuously throughout the afternoon. Several exceptional vintages will be featured, starting with Bollinger Special Cuvée Champagne, emblematic of the House.

Priced at €80 per person, the experience is accompanied by sweet and savory treats designed to enhance the tasting, while the Grappille menu remains available at an additional cost for those who wish to prolong the exploration. Unlimited hot drinks and soft drinks complete this event, designed as a light, sunny, and resolutely Parisian celebration.

Legendary Dinners

Several times a year, the Grappille wine bar and the Trente-Trois restaurant open their doors for an exceptional experience: the Legendary Dinners, created in collaboration with iconic châteaux and estates. These evenings celebrate the names that have shaped the history of wine, from grands crus to legendary houses and iconic bottles, as in the latest edition, which featured wines from Lafite Rothschild.

For each dinner, chef Sébastien Sanjou designs a bespoke menu highlighting a selection of rare and iconic bottles. Under the expert eye of Xavier Thuizat, each pairing is crafted like a precise dialogue between cuisine and wine. Intended for a limited number of guests, these unique experiences are truly timeless moments.
